Psalm 118:24

Today's card was made using materials that I have had on hand for a very long time. The butterfly punch is from Martha Stewart; the sentiment is from a retired Stampin' Up group and the blue background paper was embossed with a Darice Swirls EF, then inked with purple ink. The paper behind it was also dabbed with purple/lavender ink.  Loose glitter, which is hard to see, was sprinkled on the butterflies. A grosgrain double-looped bow finishes the card.

Recycled Christmas Card #1

Years ago, before I started making my own Christmas cards, I purchased some from a local store. They were up in a cabinet for years, forgotten and neglected. I pulled them out recently and decided to use them in making creations of my own. I accented the image with gold glitter glue and also loose gold glitter. The little lamb is accented with silver glitter. The berries and eyes of the lion were accented with red liquid paint drops; background paper is embossed. Card is finished with a red double-looped bow.

Happy Birthday with Butterflies

Today I used some Stampin' Up background paper (which might be discontinued by now), because it's so cheerful. Looking at the colors makes me smile! It is mounted on a white piece of cardstock which has been run through an EF (doesn't really matter which one, because it is mostly covered), which gives a little extra dimension. The butterflies are cut from the Joy Craft Fantasy Butterflies dies; label is from Spellbinders Fancy Labels. It's finished off with rhinestones, liquid pearls and a coral colored double-looped bow.

This picture shows more of the dimension:

C is for Checks and Cyan

I was honored this week to be a guest designer for Valery Anne's Butterfly Challenge.

The card I made used a Darice checkered EF, although the checks in this challenge could also be from gingham patterned paper or cloth, or even gingham ribbon; actually, anything that is checkered would be great.  One of my favorite colors is cyan; if you own a printer, you probably know that one of the cartridge colors is cyan, which is a beautiful color similar to turquoise. The foliage is made from a Cheery Lynn Fanciful Flourish die.  Also used to make the card were pearls, striped ribbon, flower punches.and a thin cyan grosgrain ribbon. The butterfly is cut from the largest die in the Spellbinders Wonderful Wings set.

Isaiah 7:14

Today I used a very lovely sentiment from Word Art Wednesday that they featured some time ago. Their word art is always exquisite, and I can hardly wait to see what Christmas sentiments they start coming up with this year.

The patterned background paper is actually from a discontinued wallpaper book which Sherwin Williams graciously gave to me. The die is Spellbinders Marvelous Squares; also used were gold rhinestones and a gold wire-edged ribbon made into a double-looped bow.
