Just for You

Today's card is another CAS, starting with an ivory cardstock base. The star of the card is a Memory Box Kensington Border die that was used with blue cardstock. The sentiment is from a very old Stampin' Up stamp that is probably discontinued by now. It is finished off with a five-looped ivory handmade bow.

Here it is:

Thinking of You

Today's card is CAS, with a large emphasis on butterflies. Butterflies are my absolute favorite embellishment--so beautiful and so meaningful, representing a transformed life in Christ. Not sure how it happened, but the lighting must have been off; the picture is actually blue and white, not blue and pink... fyi.

These were used in making the card:

Just Rite Grand Sentiments
Memory Box Kensington Border; Vivienne Butterfly

Wintery Blue Birthday Wishes

Today's card is made with cool, wintery colors for a friend whose birthday is tomorrow, early in the month of January. The background is almost frosty in appearance because of the silver-flecked tulle laid on top of the blue cardstock background. I found a neat tool at Michael's that I bought and am using today; it is by Recollections, and stamps, embosses and punches in one easy step. How neat is that? It was used on the flowers. I used embossing ink, then embossed with silvery white embossing powder, also by Recollections.

I tried adding a small butterfly to the card, but it was just too much. Sometimes I need to know when to stop.  :o)

These were used to make the card:

EK Success 1 1/4" Scalloped Circle Punch
Memory Box Lorelai Leaf and Lorelai Leaf Outline
Sentiment from Internet
Recollections Flower Stamp/Emboss/Punch Set; Sparkling Embossing Powder
Silver-Flecked Tulle
Iridescent Sequins
White Doily
Silver Wire-Edged Double-Looped Ribbon Bow
Rhinestones

White on White Sympathy Card

On Christmas Eve a dear friend of mine graduated to her eternal home with Jesus. She was a remarkable woman, full of faith, grace and courage, looking to Jesus, the Author and Finisher of her faith.

I put this insert into the card, sent to her sister, Joy:

A Picture of Robin

Joy, there is significance in the construction of this card made especially for you; it reflects some of the precious attributes that Robin carried.

·        White is for the purity of her heart, made clean by the shed blood of Jesus…

·        The embossed background represents the pressures of her life which made a lasting, beautiful impression on her soul of God’s handiwork in her life; there was no bitterness for the challenges she faced, but joy and forgiveness…

·        The lace represents her loveliness as a woman…

·        The glitter reminds me of God’s glory, which she always carried…

·        The flower is for the Secret Garden within her where she and Christ met for constant communion…

·        The butterflies are a reminder that Robin was a very, very free spirit, and that she has all freedom now…

·        And finally, the pearls represent Jesus, the Pearl of Great Price; she left everything she had to lay hold of Him (Matthew 13:45-46).

May this little card always remind you of Robin’s grace and courage.

These were used to make the card:

Spellbinders Wonderful Wings; Ornamental Tgs One
String Pearls
Loose Iridescent Glitter
Sentiment printed from my computer

This shot was an attempt to show the sparkle of the glitter, which my iPhone does not do very well.....

Psalm 139:17

Since Christmas is only two days away, I have pulled back a bit from making Christmas cards; time for a break from that and time to go into my stash of dies and papers to make an all purpose card; could be for a birthday or a get well greeting, or a "just because" surprise for someone.

Here is what was used to make it:

  • Spellbinders Scalloped Borders Three; Labels Eighteen
  • Martha Stewart Large Branch Punch
  • String Pearls
  • Joy Fantasy Butterfly Dies
  • Memory Box Fabulous Phlox Die
  • Cuttlebug Swiss Dots EF
  • Sentiment printed from my computer

A Rosy Birthday Card

Today's card is a departure from Christmas creations. I just needed to do something else, since for the last few months it has been only Christmas cards.

The blue and white paper is shelf liner from the dollar store; foliage is Lorelai Leaf and Lorelai Leaf Cutout dies using four layers of aluminum foil. The flowers are from Spellbinders:  Bitty Blossoms and Spiral Rose One, and the roses are glittered for extra interest; wish the sparkle showed up better! The border punch is from Martha Stewart. Sentiment is from Stampin' Up, which was hand cut out with scissors.  Blue and silver ribbon and a double looped bow finish the card.
