Today I am posting a Christmas card with lots of dimension and layers.

Starting with white cardstock, a red layer was added, then an embossed white layer (Cuttlebug Baby's Breath EF). Next, a fancy gold ribbon is run vertically down the card; the sentiment is printed from my computer and mounted using a frame cut from the Cricut Elegant Edges cartridge. Rhinestones down the right hand side and sparkly foliage from the craft store are added, and a gold mesh bow finishes the project.

The Real Gift (2)

I loved the sentiment "Jesus, the real Gift is You," so much that I made several cards with it. This is the true meaning of Christmas, and this CAS card is very straightforward and uncluttered. Sometimes when you want the message to be front and center, less is more. I might use this sentiment a lot on next year's cards, as well.

Starting with white cardstock, a green textured layer from my paper stash was added, then the sentiment was punched with a Fiskars scallop punch and backed with pop dots onto a red circle (also from my paper stash). It is attached with some pop dots to the green piece. The card is finished with a big red and gold bow at the bottom.

The Real Gift (1)

Today I am posting another CAS Christmas card, which reminds us that Jesus is the Reason for the Season. Each day I press in more and more to know the Treasure that He truly is, right here, right now. We don't have to wait to get to Heaven to experience the majesty of Who He Is. We can know a measure of it right here on earth.  :o)

Starting with white cardstock, a red piece of background paper from my stash is added. The sentiment is printed from my computer. (I print a lot from the computer because of the message I want to send forth is not always available in a stamp.) It is punched from a Fiskars scallop punch and backed with green paper using pop dots. It is attached to the card also with pop dots. The green and gold ribbon finishes the look.

Masculine Birthday Card

Today is my sweet hubby's birthday, and I made him a CAS card. Men don't really care for a lot of frou-frou.

Starting out with white cardstock, I glued on a textured piece of antique gold paper from my stash of papers, then on the right, a piece of textured brown paper (also from stash). I ran some kraft paper with torn edges through a crimper and placed on top of it the sentiment (from Joann's)  stamped with brown ink (nothing says "masculine" like the color brown, right?). On the top is some twine and a very masculine brown button, also from my stash.

Savior

I made a CAS Christmas card a few days ago with my Cricut "New Testament" cartridge. The base is white cardstock and the second layer is a gold piece of embossed paper which I have had for almost a year now; it is from an old discontinued wallpaper book. The word "Savior" is cut out from the Cricut machine in a green paper. The bottom is embellished with green ribbon and a very large bow; both the bow and the word "Savior" are sprayed with green glitter mist. The bow was made with Bow Easy.

Christmas Gift Cards Sign

The other day our  pastor's wife asked me if I would make a little 5" x 7" sign to go along side of a box in which people would be contributing gift cards for needy families in our congregation.

Starting out with white cardstock, I cut a piece that was 5 1/2" by 7". The extra half inch at the top was scored and bent down and another 5" x 7" piece was glued to the folded piece on the other side so that the sign would stand upright. Next, a green layer was added and then a gold layer. Gold ribbon was attached to these two layers which had been glued together. The wording was printed from my computer and framed in white, then in green with Spellbinders Labels Eighteen. I glued some red ribbon onto some wider gold mesh ribbon and made a fancy bow and attached it, and finally added some red sparkly foliage that was on sale at the craft store.

"And She Laid Him in a Manger"

I used another Cricut cartridge in making this card: December 25th. I love the pretty design this cartridge made on the lower part of the manger. The cutout was made from red vinyl, and later sprayed with red glitter mist (Krylon) for some extra embellishment. This is really a CAS card, and was so easy to make. The background is a piece of white cardstock run through a Darice (Snowflakes) EF. The raised flakes were glued, then sprinkled with iridescent glitter. The finishing touch is a red and white polka dot bow at the bottom.

Joy

I made a card using my Cricut machine yesterday, and wanted to get it posted.

Starting out with white cardstock, a layer of aluminum foil was added; a layer of blue paper was run through a Darice EF (Snowflakes). I put VersaMark ink on each of the raised flakes and sprinkled them with white embossing powder, then used the heat tool on it to make them turn white and adhere to the paper.

I used the December 25th Cricut cartridge to cut out the manger scene and the word "JOY," then sprayed them with silver glitter mist (Krylon) to make them sparkle against the night sky.

Michael's had this pretty blue and silver ribbon last time I was there, so, knowing it would be used, into the shopping cart it went.  Using that ribbon across the bottom, I also added a bow over on the right under the sentiment.

For unto Us a Child Is Born

I made another Christmas card; at this rate, they will all be done soon.

Starting with white cardstock, a red piece is laid on top of it. The next layer is white paper; you can't actually tell, but it was run through a Cuttlebug EF (Swiss Dots). On top of that is a layer of silver tulle. The focal point of this one is the sentiment: "For unto us a child is born." It is mounted on a red piece of cardstock and put in the upper left hand corner of the card with dimensional stickies. A white glittery double-looped bow is added on the right, then the whole card was sprayed with Krylon Diamond Dust spray. Finally, three red rhinestones were added at the bottom of the framed sentiment. Note: It is really important that if you are going to spray your entire card with any embellishing spray, do it before you add rhinestones. Otherwise, their sparkle will be dulled.

Gloria

I made a CAS (sort of) Christmas card this morning. I had an element that was already made beforehand; I guess I made it and decided not to use it, so it went into a little box for that sort of thing. It is a dark blue die cut from Spellbinders Majestic Elements on which I had heat embossed in gold the word "Gloria." The stamp is from a CTMH set in my stamp drawer. There are two gold pearls added, one to the top of the piece and one to the bottom.

I ran a white piece of cardstock through a Paper Studio A2 Curl Ribbon EF and spray painted it gold; then sprayed over it with some Krylon Diamond Dust spray. The diamond dust spray is so subtle that you almost cannot tell it is there, but maybe it adds just a small element of extra bling. The sentiment is put on with pop dots; a sparkly, blingy gold bow is placed at the bottom of the card.
