Philippians 2:13 (2)

My posts have been few and far between this month because of some times of illness and, of course, the busyness of this time of year. Sometimes making cards just has to take a back seat. I am glad that all my Christmas cards are made!

Today's post is centered around a Bible verse which gives me great comfort, in that it is not my striving and my works that work in me to make me what God desires me to be. I can cooperate, but it is all by His grace.

Products used:

Sizzix Labels and Stitched Frames die; Dots and Ribbons EF
Large Gold Ribbon; Small Blue Ribbon; Small Gold Ribbon
Floral Sprig from floral department of craft store
Sentiment printed from my computer

Here is the card:

For unto You Is Born This Day...

Today's card is another Christmas creation using paper and an image from Diane's Daydream Designs. I recently got a Silhouette Cameo and got it for the express reason for cutting out images so as not to have to fussy cut any more. This card is living proof that it works. I used Diane's Poinsettia and Candle from her Deck the Halls Color Digi set, and Darling Dots Sizzles Digi Papers. The sentiment is from the Glory of Christmas Sentiment Set. Since I am not one who does a lot of coloring, I do appreciate how beautifully Diane has colored in her digis. I could not do it this well! It is hard to tell in the picture, but the image and the white background are generously dusted with glitter. Can't help myself. :o)

Another Card for a Redhead!

The time is drawing near for the birthday of a sweet neighbor of mine who has red hair. Seems redheads always love oranges and golds and coppers, so today's card is all about that.

I got two new things that I am trying out on this card; (1) a Silhouette Cameo and (2) Martha Stewart Microbeads. I cut out a lattice pattern on the Cameo and put it up against a peachy background paper, then dusted it with gold glitter. The flowers are punched from a Stampin' Up Pansy punch, then covered with the microbeads. (If you go to the craft store and ask where the microbeads are, as I did, the store people may not know what you are talking about, but if you look in the Martha Stewart section, that is where they will be. Recollections at Michael's also carries some. Maybe this is a relatively new product that few have seen.) They are boosted up by pop dots and embellished with gold rhinestones and green die cut leaves. The butterfly (Spellbinders Papillon Two) is dusted with copper glitter and embellished with Viva Cream Liquid Pearls. I wish my camera picked up the sparkle of the glitters better, but that's just the way it is.

Here it is:

Philippians 2:13

Today's card is made entirely of pre-cut things that had been stashed away, waiting to be used. I have a friend who was born the day after Christmas, and last year when I gave her a card, she was so deeply touched because not many people remember her birthday. It's still a long time until that date, but I wanted to make her something special again for her birthday, and since I have already made about 80 Christmas cards for this year, it was a nice departure from what my focus has been lately.

These were used to make the card:
  • Sentiment Printed from Computer, Cut with a Die
  • Cricut Close to My Heart Artfully Sent Cartridge
  • Spellbinders Spiral Blossom One
  • Sizzix Classic Ovals
  • Memory Box Lorelai Leaf and Lorelai Leaf Cutout
  • Cheery Lynn Dancing Lace Border
  • Liquid Pearls
  • Glitter
  • Yellow Ribbon
  • Yellow Ink

Here is the card:
