Wedding Card

Today I am posting a wedding card which my sweet friend at the post office asked me to make for two friends of hers. This little post office is tucked away at the Ace Hardware store in my area. Since fewer people know about it, there is almost never a long wait to get things mailed. If you have an Ace Hardware store near you, perhaps they have a post office as well.

I used these to make the card:

  • "Vern & Beth" printed from my computer
  • Paper Studio Curl Ribbon EF
  • Spellbinders Spiral Rose
  • DieNamics Layered Leaves
  • Glitter
  • Ribbon
  • Bow Easy
  • Viva Liquid Pearls
  • eBosser
  • Lace
  • Vellum
  • Aluminum Foil

Here is the card:

It is hard to tell, but the background "Beth & Vern" paper is lightly dusted with glitter.

Masculine Birthday Card

I have three brothers and two sons-in-law who all have summer birthdays very close together. While I love making feminine cards, cards for men pose a real challenge for me. I love bling and flourishes and bows and butterflies--not especially what you would put on a man's card. So I had to put on my thinking cap and figure something that would work for men.

I found this picture of an old car on the internet and backed it with a red piece that was run through a Darice Checkered EF. That piece is backed by a grey piece.

Here is the card:

A Thankful Little Birdie

I got a cute little Cottage Cutz die (Bird and Birdhouse) for my birthday and wanted to thank the giver with a card made with it. The background piece is embossed with a Darice Large Petals EF and is brayed with white ink. The sentiment is printed from my computer and is punched with a 1 1/4" scallop punch. To make the white less stark, I inked it some with a light blue ink. The little bird's eye is accented with a liquid pearl.

Here is the card:

Glad Tidings of Great Joy

Doesn't it feel like every new card is a new adventure in creating? Doing new things is so much fun when they work out, and a learning experience when they don't.

Today I was playing with some striped paper and decided to see if a Darice Diagonal Striped EF would coincide with the stripes on the paper. To my delight, the stripes matched up very well and this is what the paper looked like after embossing:

I punched out some greenery from a Martha Stewart Pine Branch punch and glued them to a cut out circle to form a wreath; then I spritzed it with glue and glittered it with white iridescent glitter. A bow is attached with little bells hanging from the tails of the ribbons. The sentiment is stamped from a Sweet 'n' Sassy stamp collection.

Here it is:

May Your Heart Be Filled...

Today's post is a Christmas card that was so much fun to make.

The tree was lots of fun constructing using layers of branches punched from the Martha Stewart Pine Branch punch; the background for the tree is from a Cuttlebug Swiss Dots EF; the branches are decorated with Viva Liquid Pearls "ornaments." The window is from PoppyStamps, Small Madison Window and the pine branches are from the same punch as the tree, but are white and glittered to look like snow. The outside of the "building" is from a Spellbinders Bricks and Bark EF and is inked with grey ink using a brayer. The sentiment is from Sweet 'n' Sassy Stamps and is die cut from Spellbinders Deckled Rectangles. A little green bow finishes the window decoration.

The picture below looks like the window is crooked, but that is just the angle of the card when the picture was taken...  oh, well.  :o)

Come, Let Us Adore Him

Today's card is another Christmas creation. I used Cottage Cutz Nativity Silhouette, a Darice snowflake EF (embossing four layers of heavy duty aluminum foil) and a blue and silver striped ribbon tied into a double-looped bow using Bow Easy. The sentiment is from Sweet 'n' Sassy stamps and is done with Versa Mark ink and silver embossing powder and heated with a heat tool. It is punched with a 1 1/2" scallop punch. The star is glued and glittered with iridescent white glitter.

Peace on Earth

Today I really got into the Christmas spirit and made three cards. The first one is below and was made using a Stampin' Up set called "Calm Christmas." The bird and the sentiment were heat embossed with blue embossing powder. The ribbon is from my stash, and the bow is made with Bow Easy.

To Cheer You Up

Today's card is made from some products sold at Diane's Daydream Designs. The coordinating background papers, image and sentiment are all taken from her site; the image is die cut with Spellbinders Labels Twenty-Three, and the tiny little butterflies are from a Fiskars punch. The larger butterfly punch is the Royal Butterfly by Martha Stewart. The yellow bow is made using Bow Easy.

This is what was used from Diane's site:

DD-Bouquet of Daisies - This set includes the pre-colored image you see here, the two papers shown plus two more background papers, and six sentiments. Included in the set is an image that is not pre-colored, but I do so appreciate having that already done for me, as the subtle shading is more beautiful than I could accomplish.

Here is the card:

I do hope you will visit Diane's store and check out all of her wonderful background papers, sentiments and image artwork. Her products are delightful and so reasonably priced.

Names of Christ with Poinsettia

Today's card is a CAS project. I got a new ODBD stamp today in the mail, one that has lovely Names of Christ, which is perfect for a Christmas card. I also used a Spellbinders poinsettia die and a bit of white ribbon for a bow. Viva Gold Liquid Pearls adorn the center of the flower. The little pine branches are from a Martha Stewart Pine Branch punch.

Even the Sparrow...

Today I am posting another card made with Diane's Daydream Design images and background paper. I have chosen Psalm 84:3 as a Scripture that goes so well with Diane's cute little mama bird with her babies in a nest. Diane did all the hard work of coloring the image, as I am not sure I have the skill she has to make it look this good. (Smile)

Here is what was used to make the card:

DD-Nest to Sky Color Set

Cheery Lynn Dancing Lace Border Die
Spellbinders Deckled Edges Rectangles
Ribbon
Twine
Button
Blue Ink
Colored Gel for "Pearls"

Here is the card:
