Peace on Earth

I am getting an early start on Christmas cards again, as it is so useful to have all Christmas cards ready by December first, as that is when hubby and I send them all out to friends and family.

I used two unnamed dies that I got from Wish.com at insanely cheap prices; they are the evergreen trees and the deer. The background piece was a light orchid color and I dabbed some London Fog grey ink along the top to resemble clouds full of snow. Both clear glitter and Martha Stewart coarse glitter were used to resemble falling snow. Sentiment is from Stampin' Up Calm Christmas, and it is die cut with a Sizzix oval stitched die. Sentiment is heat embossed with gold.

Realistic Flower Card

I pulled out my Cricut machine this weekend and am still excited about making cards from different cartridges I have. This one was made using the Flower Shoppe cartridge. I cut everything out on white cardstock and inked each piece with different colors. A stylus was used to curl the leaves, make veins in them and curl the petals on the flower.  A Stampin' Up sentiment from Friendly Phrases was used, and the border was punched using a Martha Stewart Fans and Flourishes punch. The gingham background was made by using a piece of light pink paper stamped with a gingham stamp.

Using Leftovers

Good Morning, Crafters!

Have you ever set out to make a card and made flowers and embellishments, only to find out through the middle of the process, that what you have made doesn't really work with the current project? Well, I have many times; and so I lay those pieces aside in hopes that somewhere down the road there will be a good use for them. Sometimes they lay unused for months.

Today's card is made from former castaways that didn't fit together for what they were made. So I gathered some that had colors that went together and made something from them. The flowers are from SU Botanical Thinlets; the doily is from Memory Keepers Antique Doily; the foliage is from Spellbinders Sprigs; circle is Spellbinders Standard Circles. I don't remember the die used for the butterfly. It's been lying around for a long time. Sentiment is from a discontinued SU stamp. Liquid pearls adorn the flowers and the butterfly.
