Be Still - Psalm 46:10

I found a wonderful Scripture/picture on the internet. Wish I could tell you where, but it might have been on a posting on Pinterest. It was so beautifully done that all it needed was to be put on a card with a few embellishments,so this card is pretty CAS. The butterfly is from Tattered lace and is sprinkled with glitter and finished with a little liquid pearl in the center.

Here it is:

Using a New Technique

I used some familiar tools today and one new one, plus a new method I have not tried before. The new tool was the Stampin' Up Flower Medallion Punch. The new method was to use a pair of Martha Stewart scissors which at one time I HAD to have, but did not use them until today.  (Smile). I punched out three flower medallions, making the last one smaller by cutting it down just a bit. The petals were bent and shaped and stacked on top of each other to make the flower fuller. The next part was a new method.

Using these Martha Stewart special scissors, I took a 1/4" strip of white paper and made a long fringe, then inked it with yellow ink and rolled it up and glued the last part down so that it created the center of the flower. The fringy piece was then manipulated to spread out. By the way, I found lots of flower ideas from this video at https://www.pinterest.com/pin/306033737155734892/.

After the flower was assembled, I inked it and sprinkled glitter on it. The butterfly is also glittered and embellished with Viva Liquid Pearls.

Finally, a bow was added at the bottom.

I used these to make the card:

Stampin' Up:  Flower Medallion Punch; Elegant Butterfly Punch
Memory Box:  Lorelai Leaf Die
Just Rite:  Grand Sentiments Stamp
Martha Stewart:  Fringe Scissors
Fiskars:  Small Butterfly Punch
Viva:  Liquid Pearls
Glitter
Pink Ribbon

2 Corinthians 5:17

I have used aluminum foil before for die cuts, but this is the first time for using it in an embossing folder. I used four thicknesses of it and ran it through a Darice Flower Frenzy EF. It was then lightly sprayed with E6000 Spray glue and lightly dabbed with a towel to remove the excess; then it was sprinkled with glitter. I didn't want to overwhelm the embossing with glitter because that might have masked the design. It would have been nice for the glitter to show up better in the photo, but my little iPhone camera does not pick up sparkles very well. In real life it glitters more. Next, a strip of silver rick-rack was run along the right hand side. The sentiment was printed from my computer and die cut with Sizzix 17 Labels (660060). The large butterfly is from Spellbinders Wonderful Wings and the small ones were punched with a Fiskars tiny butterfly punch. The larger butterfly is embellished with silver Viva Liquid Pearls.

Here it is:

This is what the aluminum foil looked like after running it through the embossing folder. The design really pops with a 3-D effect because of the holding power of the foil:

The Lord Liveth - Psalm 18:46

I am sharing a card today that features Psalm 18:46: The Lord liveth; and blessed be my rock; and let the God of my salvation be exalted. Many of you may know the song we have often sung with the same words.

The first layer is a floral background; the second layer is a pink polka dot paper which was embellished by punching the corners with a Martha Stewart Cherish corner punch, then copiously glittered with MS Crystal Glitter and a bit of MS gold glitter, too. Wish the camera had picked up the sparkle better.

The sentiment is from Word Art Wednesday and is die cut using Spellbinders Labels Twenty-Two. The rose is Spellbinders Spiral Blossom One. It was cut in a very neon pink paper which was way too outlandish for the other colors on the card, so I spray painted it with white and glittered it. The butterfly is Spellbinders Les Papillons Two, also glittered and embellished with a pink Ranger liquid pearl, and the leaves are Die Namics Layered Leaves. A lace strip across the bottom with a lace bow finishes the card.

Birthday Girl

I am making today's card from a freebee offered by TLC Creations; this lovely digi can be found there.

I added some stickles to the image; the background is embossed with Cuttlebug Baby's Breath embossing folder and was brayered with gold ink to make the embossing stand out more. Viva Liquid Pearls were added for more embellishment. A butterfly (Frantic Stamper Monarch Butterfly) was stamped with gold ink and glittered up, although you cannot tell from the photo. It is prettier in real life.  :o)  Liquid pearls were also added to the body of the butterfly.

Lots of Flowers

Today's card is made with lots and lots of flowers. One thing about the white background layer--I ran it through the machine with the wrong side up, so it came out differently than what I wanted; there was printing on the back, so it could not be turned over. Oh, well! That's crafting, isn't it?

The Scripture used on the card is so beautifully meaningful. When we accept Christ as our Savior, everything wrong that we have ever done is washed away, and there is no flaw there that God sees. This is Jesus' love note to us. Is that not amazing?

These were used to make the card:

Cuttlebug:  Swiss Dots EF

Spellbinders:  Spiral Blossom One; Bitty Blossoms; Fancy Lattice
Memory Box: Lorelai Leaf
Sizzix:  17 Labels 660060
Martha Stewart:  Royal Butterfly Punch; Large Leaf Punch; Pine Branch Punch
Ranger:  Liquid Pearls
Grey, Yellow and Silver Inks
Sentiment printed from my computer

Here is the card:

Wow.... Think about it!

Thinking of You

Today's card is pretty CAS. I got a new stamp in the mail yesterday that I wanted to use, and I added some embellishments to perk it up a bit, but not to the extent of overkill. After stamping, I did use a technique of dabbing pink liquid pearls on the tree, then dusting with glitter. Hard to see in the picture, but in real life, it adds some sparkle.

These are what were used:

Stampin' Up Sheltering Tree Stamp
Tattered Lace Butterfly Die
Ranger Liquid Pearls
Rick Rack
Glitter
Pink Ribbon

And here is the card:

The glitter was not photographing well, but maybe you can use your imagination!  :o)

Just Because

Today's card was almost an "oopsie," but I like the way it turned out.

The original patterned paper was aqua and gold and beige. I used heat embossing on the sentiment and afterwards sprayed some glue on it and sprinkled it with gold glitter. The glitter was unevenly distributed, so I started rubbing the surface. The glitter that was used was Martha Stewart, and the rubbing caused it to meld to the paper; it almost looked like gold leafing, and it was in a random pattern, which turned out kind of nice (unexpectedly!).

These were used in making the card:

Spellbinders Wonderful Wings
Martha Stewart Gold Glitter
Just Rite Grand Sentiments
VersaMark Ink
Gold Embossing Powder
Gold Liquid Pearls
