A Flowery Thank You

Today's card uses a Stampin' Up die and stamp set: Beautiful Branches and Thoughtful Branches; the butterfly punch(Elegant Butterfly) sentiment and punch are also from SU. The EF is from Darice:  Cherry Blossoms. A pearl to accent the butterfly and an ivory double-looped bow finish the card.

White on White

Sometimes white on white can be fun to make, and depending on what you put on it, the card can be quite elegant. I very rarely use items from the same manufacturer to make a project, but today's card is made from all Stampin' Up products.  They are:  Petal Burst EF; Botanical Builders Dies; Elegant Butterfly Punch. Incidental items are white ribbon with iridescent sparkle dots, white ribbon, iridescent glitter and rhinestones.

Here it is:

Lots of Sparkle with Curtain Folded Christmas Tree

Today I tried a great trick that I learned from a YouTube video by Maymay:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oe3P7OC8qUM

It is for a curtain folded Christmas tree, and was so much fun to make. The pretty Christmas tree paper was printed from a beautiful selection of papers I won at A Bit More Time to Craft. I have been hoarding a string of plastic Christmas lights in my drawer for years, just waiting for the right occasion to put them to use, so today was the day! The tree need double-sided paper, but Maymay suggests that if you do not have any, just stamp the wrong side of the paper with a patterned stamp, so I did.

I started out with red cardstock and ran it through a Darice EF, but that's kind of a moot point now, because all the glitter (both coarse and fine) pretty much made the embossing undetectable. But, what can I say? I like bling!  I also ran the trunk of the tree through an EF for some extra texture.

Here is the card:

Glittery Wise Men

This Christmas card was easy to make; the star of the show is the Tattered Lace Wise Men dies, which were cut from grey cardstock and pop dotted onto blue cardstock. Both iridescent glitter and Martha Stewart Coarse glitter (I love this one because it looks just like snow!) make for a wintery, sparkly card.

Here it is:

Inside sentiment penned by Diane Noble:

On that Holy night our Savior was born and

God ushered into the world light,

joy and  His Truth in the flesh.

And now at Christmas we anticipate

His coming again to bring final

Peace and justice to the nations.

May your holiday season be wrapped in His light,

sparkled with His joy, and filled with His peace.

Merry Christmas

Monochromatic Blue Birthday

I tried out a new embossing folder today. After trying to ink the raised portions in white ink with no outstanding effects, I resorted to using white shoe polish! Worked like a dream. After doing that, it was glittered generously. (Never too much bling, right?)

Tools used:

Spellbinders: Dew Drop Delight EF; Deckled Rectangles Die Set
Stamin' Up: Botanical Builder Die Set
Joy Craft: Fantasy Butterfly Dies
Martha Stewart: Branch Punch
White Ink and White Shoe Polish
Ink Brayer
Iridescent Glitter
Rhinestone
Pearls
Ribbon

Christmas Window

Today's card shows a picture of Grampa reading to his grandchildren - maybe the Christmas story from the Bible...

I used grey cardstock to resemble brick mortar and ran it through a Spellbinders Bricks and Bark EF; the bricks were dabbed with different colors of red ink. The window is a Poppy Stamps Small Madison Window die; foliage is from a Martha Stewart Pine Branch punch; bow is made of raffia ribbon, and the picture is printed from the internet. The sentiment is stamped with a Sweet 'n' Sassy Christmas stamp and heat embossed with gold embossing powder, then cut from a Sizzix die that came in a package with 17 different sized dies.

Snowy Christmas Church

Today's card was made using a beautiful Cottage Cutz Church Scene die that I got for my birthday this month. I used four layers of heavy duty aluminum foil for the cut itself and lined the background with dark blue and white papers. To accent the little church, I colored in the windows and door with yellow marker. The papers were glittered with iridescent clear glitter, and finished off with Martha Stewart Coarse Clear glitter, which I love to use on all my winter scenes, because it looks just like snowflakes falling.

Here is the card:
