Ribbon and Wreath

Today another Christmas card is posted!  Getting these done before time to send them out so that part of Christmas will be stress-free. (Although, come to think of it, Jesus never meant for us to be stressed out over His birthday, did He?)  Perhaps my attitude about priorities needs an adjustment.  I need to just take time to sit with Him and discern what He wants me to pour energy into.  That way, stress of doing unnecessary stuff is eliminated. Anxiety relieved.   :o)

A little note about the 3-D paint used to make the berries on the holly: when they are first squeezed out of the bottle, they look pointed, like little Hershey Kisses. To fix that, if you will very lightly and very gently tap the paper on a hard surface, the points will settle down into a nice little ball shape.

These were used to make the card:
  • Tulle with gold threads
  • Printed ribbon
  • Impression Obsession Twig Wreath
  • Martha Stewart Holly Punch; Pine Sprigs Punch
  • Gold and white cord
  • Shiny Red Barn colored Scribbles 3-D paint
Here it is:

I wanted to frame the words "Holy" and "Savior" with the wreath.

Hand-tied double-looped bow:

Cheerful Thank You Card

Today's card is to thank my daughter for treating me to a "High Tea" at a very ritzy hotel last Saturday. It was the BEST time!

So, the card has a yellow gingham background; the word "Thanks" is stamped with a Stampin' Up stamp which I got at a discontinued sale a couple of years ago. The flowers are punched with an EK Success Five Petal Punch and the greenery is from the Spellbinders Foliage die set.  Butterfly is from Tattered Lace Butterfly set; rhinestones accentuate both the butterfly and the flowers.

Luke 2:11 with Poinsettia

Another Christmas card made today...Yay!

This one uses a background EF from Cuttlebug: Cane Back Chair; also used were Spellbinders Poinsettia die and A2 Scalloped Borders Two. The sentiment (created by Diane Noble, who is a guest designer on Word Art Wednesday), is elevated with pop dots,is embellished with Viva Red Liquid Pearls and is inked around the edges with green ink so it will show up better; the flower is embellished with a sparkling yellow rhinestone. A hand tied bow finishes the card:

Christmas Wise Men

Aren't all projects somewhat of an experiment?

That's what today's card is all about. Tattered Lace dies are exquisitely intricate and well made, and the die used for today's card is no exception; it is the Three Wise Men die, and it was cut, then the separate pieces were spray painted with silver, gold and copper.  The background is made of black cardstock with two layers of silver-flecked tulle, used here to resemble millions of small stars in the sky. The foreground piece is also black cardstock and is glittered with Martha Stewart large glitter flakes, which resemble snow. The wise men are staggered on the front of the card to show depth; after they were attached more of the "snow" glitter was added. The star was cut from a Cricut Teresa Collins December 25th cartridge and was Versamarked with ink and heat embossed in silver. A small clipping of pop dot elevates the star to make it more prominent.

Here is the card:

Wish my iPhone caught more of the sparkle, but it does not. This is an attempt to show more of it:

This precious sentiment was authored by my sweet friend Diane N.:

Glorious Christmas

The other day I got a package from HSN; I have signed up for auto shipment of Anna Griffin embossing folders.

The card made today uses her Mistletoe Wreath EF; it is hand painted with Stampin' Up markers (this took quite a long time, as I am not much for coloring!) and glittered with Martha Stewart large glitter flakes; a handmade bow finishes the card.

Here it is:

Blue and Silver Glittered Nativitiy

Today's card is monochromatic using shades of blue with silver.

Starting out with a blue paper, I embossed it with a Darice Snowflake EF, then glittered it with sprinkle-on glitter. If you rub some glitters after sprinkling, it takes on a whole different shimmer, as did this one. Since it was glittered, the embossed snowflakes hardly show up, but, oh, well.  :)

The manger scene is from a Cottage Cutz die called Nativity Scene. I use this die a lot at Christmas time to make cards because it embodies the true meaning of Christmas, which is something I like to include in all my Christmas cards. I used four layers of heavy duty aluminum foil with the die. Behind the die cut is a blue and silver ribbon, and below the die cut is another different blue and silver ribbon bow.

Here it is:

A large clear rhinestone was added to accentuate the Bethlehem star:
