Recycled Christmas Wrapping Paper

Today's card uses some wrapping paper that was saved from a couple of years ago. It had several scenes on it, and the one I chose for this card was of the shepherds looking at the Star of Bethlehem. It is framed with sparkly gold cardstock.

The star was cut from the Cricut December 25th cartridge; it was inked with VersaMark ink and heat embossed with gold embossing powder. It is further embellished with a rhinestone. The base is from some red cards that I have had for a long time; glitter was used to enhance it. The sentiment is one that Diane Noble created; she is a DT member at Word Art Wednesday; it is punched out with a Stampin' Up punch, but I don't know which one--sorry! It is attached with pop dots, and a double-looped hand tied bow finishes the card.

Here it is:

Glory to God in the Highest

Today's card is another addition to my Christmas card arsenal. The black and white glittery swirl paper is actually wrapping paper from Hobby Lobby. The red square is softened by rounding the corners with a corner rounder punch; the white frame is from Spellbinders:  Picot Edge Round die.  The holly is cut from a Cricut December 25th cartridge, and the sentiment is called "Glory to God" from Stampabilities. Red berries were added with Shiny Red Barn colored Scribbles 3-D Paint. The card is finished with a gingham hand-tied bow.

Psalm 121:2 - Lace and Pearls

Today's card is a combination of embossing, pearls, lace, roses and a bow. The blue background piece is embossed with a Cuttlebug Damask EF; the raised portions were inked with white ink to make them more prominent. The greenery is from a Spellbinders Sprigs die; roses are also Spellbinders, Bitty Blossoms; butterflies are from a Tattered Lace Butterfly Collection die; Also used are Viva Liquid Pearls, a strand of pearls, lace and a hand tied triple-looped bow. Sentiment is printed from my computer.

Here is the card:

The white ink accentuates the raised embossing so that it shows up better:

Glitter glue on the roses:

Pearl embellished butterfly:

God's Masterpiece

Today's card showcases a Bible verse that lets the recipient know how valuable she is to God, and is taken from Ephesians 2:10.  Don't we all need to be reminded that we are each God's unique, perfectly designed beautiful creations, made especially for a purpose that He has planned out for us from eternity past?

The sentiment is printed from my computer and cut with a Sizzix Oval Frame die.  The vintage rose picture, also printed from my computer, is highlighted on the white parts of the rose with glitter glue. The camera did not pick up the sparkle very well.  The small butterfly is from the Tattered Lace Butterfly collection of dies. Three drops of liquid pearl embellish the oval frame.

Christmas Joy!

Today's card is another one for Christmas.

I had a nice piece of striped paper that was festive and bright, a covered it with two layers of gold-flecked tulle. I have been using tulle a lot lately because some of the metallic ones are so pretty when placed over regular cardstock. The red block is stamped with a Hero Arts "Joy" stamp with VersaMark ink, then sprinkled with gold embossing powder, then heat embossed. It is finished with a handmade double-looped gold bow.

Psalm 84:11

Today's card has a theme which is so comforting to us as Christians; the sentiment is artfully crafted by Diane Noble, who is a DT member at Word Art Wednesday. The background papers (one floral and one solid turquoise) are embossed with a Spellbinders Quilted Delight EF, and the sentiment is framed with a Spellbinders Floral Oval die. It is finished off with a turquoise and white gingham bow, a red button and a gold cord bow. The whole of the card is generously glittered.

You Are Magnificent

Do you ever just make things up as you go along? Sometimes my plans change midway into a project and they take a complete 180 degree turn.

So it is with today's card.

I started out with blue cardstock and found some drywall tape and applied it to the cardstock; this is so convenient because it has its own adhesive on the back!  After deciding to have yellow flowers, I found a yellow ribbon to go with them. Then it was sprayed with adhesive and lightly dusted with iridescent glitter. The sentiment was one that was printed out on my computer months ago--found somewhere on the web, but not sure where; it is punched out with an EK Success 2" round punch and attached with pop dots; it is also embellished with Viva Ice White Liquid Pearls. The flowers are punched with an EK Success 5 petal flower punch and each has a rhinestone in the middle. The foliage is from Martha Stewart Large Branch Punch, and the butterfly is from a Frantic Stamper Monarch Butterfly die, which is also embellished with liquid pearls. A hand-tied yellow bow finishes the card.
