Names of Jesus with Twig Wreath

Today's CAS Christmas card reminds us of many of the wonderful names of Christ our Lord. The brown matting and twig wreath give it a rustic feel, reminding us of the humanity of Jesus: fully God and fully man.

These were used to make the card:
  • Impression Obsession Twig Wreath
  • Our Daily Bread Designs Chalkboard Word Collage Stamp
  • Silver Viva Liquid Pearls
  • Silver and Blue Ribbon
  • White Ink
And here it is:

Window View of the Shepherds

Today's Christmas card is a look through the window at the shepherds, who 2000 years ago saw a star in the night sky that led them to Bethlehem where the Christ Child was born.

Elements used to make the card were:

  • Christmas Wrapping Paper (the shepherd window scene)
  • Sweet and Sassy Christmas Sentiment Stamp
  • Martha Stewart Pine Branch Punch
  • Gold Ribbon
  • VersaMark Embossing Ink
  • Gold Embossing Powder

Red and Green

Today's card was created using a base card from Anna Griffin's Christmas collection. I ordered the pop up card set, but only made one that popped up because it seemed difficult to make the card in a way that looked good to me. So, I am using a lot of her card bases to make regular Christmas cards.

A red cardstock inset was cut to fit in the frame on the base card, then a punched sentiment from Diane Noble, who is a DT member of Word Art Wednesday, was placed in the red square with pop dots. The star is cut from the Cricut December 25th cartridge, heat embossed with gold embossing ink, and embellished with a rhinestone in the center of it. Gold glitter is added; if you hold the card just right, a burst of gold shines and adds a festive feel. A red and white double-looped gingham bow finishes the card.

Here it is:

Silent Night

Have you made all your Christmas cards yet? I am so appreciative of the many blogs which encourage us to make them throughout the year, and for the "Anything Goes" challenges, too. They have made it fun and easy to prepare for the day when we mail out all those beautiful Christmas creations.

Today's card is a break from traditional colors; I have used a lavender/purple cardstock and have stamped and heat embossed the scene from Luke 2:1-16 where the shepherds see the Bethlehem star and go to the stable where King Jesus lies in the manger. I used the Hero Arts Nativity stamp and embossed it with silver embossing powder. The embellishment at the top is from Joann's; the star is accentuated with a rhinestone, and a silver double-looped bow at the top finishes the card.

Recycling a Card from Last Year

Last year I got a beautiful Christmas card that was somewhat nontraditional in its colors, but still very much in sync with the holidays. The sized piece is matted with an orchid colored cardstock. Martha Stewart coarse "snow" glitter is added, along with some gold glitter. The ornaments on the tree are accented with liquid pearls and glitter glue; the word "Peace" is from a Spellbinders die. The card is finished with a light blue double-looped bow.

You Are Someone Special

Today's card is made using an Anna Griffin Floral Oval EF and light blue cardstock. There are some pastel chalks in my drawer that have been there for years, so I decided to use them on the embossed flowers and the sentiment. In order to set the chalk so it would not smear, the card was sprayed with clear gloss. The butterfly is made from a Memory Box Vivienne die; the flowers are enhanced with a dot of liquid pearl in the center of each one. A double-looped hand tied bow is at the bottom. Liquid pearls enhance the butterfly; then the entire card was sprayed with Krylon diamond dust to add some extra glitter.
