This week at Joan's Gardens we have another one of those challenges that got me out of my comfort zone. One of the guidelines is that we must use the color peach. Since I don't work a lot with peach, it was harder to come up with something that fulfilled the criteria for the card and was still somewhat pleasing to the eye. I must admit that after getting started, it was fun to create all the elements and put them together. These are Joan's guidelines:
Starting out with white cardstock, I put a layer of peach and white gingham paper which had been run through a favorite EF of mine. I used various colors of ink brayered on the raised pattern to make the embossing stand out more. The heart is a cut out also run through a Cuttlebug EF. Behind the heart is a patterned die cut that I recently got from Joan cut in a soft sparkly green color, as are the corner pieces and the leaf flourishes. The tiny flowers are punched out and layered, then accented with green rhinestones. The leaf flourishes are also embellished with rhinestones, and the corner pieces, as well.
Here is the card:
It seemed that the white heart was a bit stark, so I put some peach colored ink on the raised dots and also put a bit on the white flowers so that they are peach and white. Here is a picture:
This picture is a close up of the layered flowers with the slight coloration on the edges of the petals:
These are the tools used in making the card:
- Cuttlebug: Swiss Dots Embossing Folder
- Marianne Designs: LR 0272
- Spellbinders: Moroccan Accents (Corner Pieces)
- Nellie Snellen: SD 002
- Paper Studio: Embossing Folder A2 #749739; Daisy Lever Punch
- Rhinestones
Items in green may be purchased from Joan.

Romans 10:9-11
If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by confessing with your mouth that you are saved. NLT
Ginny, I love your card. It is awesome how you used the printed paper for you background and embossed it. Your trailing flowers are a very cute use of the die!
