I love working with black and white. It is crisp and clean and bright, and if done with mostly white, and some cheery embellishments, it is not at all gloomy.
On this card, I started with white cardstock, put on top of that black cardstock, then embossed four different patterned strips and glued them to the black background. The sentiment is stamped with embossing ink and is hot tooled with silver embossing powder. The roses are hand rolled and are paired with die cut leaves. They are cut from a piece of sheet music paper printed from my computer, which I found somewhere on the internet.
Here is the card:
I am entering this card at MFP Speedy TV (Sentiment Only) and at Word Art Wednesday (Anything Goes).

Romans 10:9-11
If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by confessing with your mouth that you are saved. NLT
What a lovely card. I've a couple of wedding cards to make and you've inspired me. Nice job!
ReplyDeleteOh, Ginny, what a beautiful birthday card! By hand rolled, does that mean YOU handrolled the roses? They are gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteYes. I die cut them from Spellbinders Bitty Blossoms and Spellbinders Spiral Blossom One, then hand rolled them and shaped them. :o)
