A Butterfly Blessing

I am entering a card at Joan's Gardens this week that has been so much fun to make.  We were to make a card using vellum, butterflies and polka dots.

I got several things from Joan this week and was eager to use at least one of them with this week's challenge; the one I chose was the lovely Joy Craft corner die.  The background is of a pretty butterfly paper that I got in a stack from my stash, glued onto a mufti-colored pinkish paper and a dark blue paper as the base; the sentiment is computer generated, and is attached with dimensional stickies. I used vellum run through an EF to create the polka dots, and put it on top of the different layers of paper to create a very soft pastel look to the card. Vellum is also layered onto the blue background piece on the sentiment and onto the blue corner embellishment to soften the bold blue color. To finish it off, three golden butterflies were added: one is punched from a Fiskars tiny butterfly punch and the other two are from my favorite Pippi Butterfly die.

Here is the card:

This is a closeup view of the golden Pippi Butterfly:

Here are the tools I used to make the card, all of which you can get from Joan:

  • Spellbinders: Labels 18
  • Cuttlebug: Polka Dot Embossing Folder
  • Memory Box:  Pippi Butterfly
  • Joy Craft: Corner Die 6002/0135

I am also entering this card into the Word Art Wednesday weekly challenge.

Thank you for stopping by my blog. I always appreciate your visits. As always, God's highest and best to you today and every day.

Many rich blessings,

Ginny B.

Romans 10:9-11
If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by confessing with your mouth that you are saved. NLT

  3. Ginny,
I never thought about putting vellum into an embossing folder. How clever is that?
