A Cheery Note of Encouragement

I love turquoise. The color is so happy and cheerful, and makes me smile; some thing lights up within me when I see certain colors, and turquoise is one of them.

Starting out with a white cardstock base, a turquoise layer that had been run through a swirly Paper Studio EF was added with dimensional stickies. The sentiment is one of my favorites--a quote from George Eliot--and helps me always to remember that today is the first day of the rest of my life. God has good things for us if we do not give up and He is always perfecting that which concerns us.  :o) The sentiment is framed with Spellbinders Labels 18 and is also added with dimensional stickies.

The corners are embellished with white die cuts (Cheery Lynn Lace Corner B161) and foliage (Cheery Lynn Mini Fanciful Flourish Right B291) and a rose (Spellbinders Bitty Blossoms) were added. I think they also add a "framing" effect to the overall look. The foliage is manipulated a little to make it more three-dimensional and lifelike. A silver and white double-looped ribbon bow was attached to the lower right hand corner and a sweet silver butterfly (Memory Box Pippi Butterfly) cut from four layers of heavy duty aluminum foil was attached to the top with a tiny sliver of a dimensional sticky to make him stand out a bit.

Here is a picture of the card:

This is a closeup of how the foliage can be raised to make the card have more of a pop. On some screens there may be a pink tinge, but all elements that are not turquoise are white:

And this picture shows the detail of silver threads running through the white ribbon:

Romans 10:9-11
If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by confessing with your mouth that you are saved. NLT
