You Are God's Masterpiece GBCB-005

Today I did something a little different  by getting out my sewing machine and stitching some of the papers on a card. This takes more effort because of (A) getting out the sewing machine, (B) changing the thread and the bobbin and (C) putting that extra touch of stitching on the papers. Looking at others who do this, it is easy to see that it really adds impact and style to any kind of card. It seems to work especially well with vintage images.

One of the most encouraging verses in Scripture is Ephesians 2:10: " You are God's masterpiece. He has created you anew in Christ Jesus, so you can do the good tings he planned for you long ago." Isn't that just one of the neatest thoughts you can hold in your heart?  Absolutely!

Starting out with white cardstock, a dark pink polka dot layer was glued down on top of it.   :o)  Then I took the same pink polka dot paper and stitched it to a light pink cardstock paper and attached that to the card with pop dots. the darker pink paper was run through an EF to add texture, although you may have to look very closely to tell that.

The vintage rose print, colored with both peach and pink, was one I found on the internet. It is printed from my computer, then die cut with a frame. Then it was mounted on a pink paper that is slightly darker than the lightest pink paper and glued down to the card. With that same pink paper the Scripture is printed out and die cut with a frame from the same set as the larger frame. It is also attached with pop dots.

I used a peachy-pink ribbon to accent the lower right hand corner; it has wired edges, so it was easy to manipulate and will hold the shape well. It is attached with a glue dot.

Finally, three butterflies punched out from three different pink papers accent the card; they are embellished with iridescent opal glitter glue.

Here is the card:

This is a closeup of the glittery butterflies:

Romans 10:9-11
If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by confessing with your mouth that you are saved. NLT
