Purple, Green and White

This week I am entering a card at Joan's Gardens using purple, green and white.  The guidelines for the challenge are:

  • Use a leaf design for the background (die cut, embossed or stamped)
  • Add purple flowers
  • Use White, Green and Purple Colors
  • Use A Sentiment
  • You must use a product sold at Joan's Gardens
  • Mention that you are doing the card/project for Joan's Gardens Challenge

This card was a lot of fun to make because I used some diamond glitter spray to make a subtle sparkle on some of the design elements.

The first layer is a solid green glued to basic white cardstock; the second layer was white cardstock run through an embossing folder, dry embossed with green ink to make a green background with white leaves.  I didn't want to add too many flourishes or other leaves because it would have made it too busy. I stamped a sentiment using purple ink onto white cardstock and ran that through a die cut, then trimmed the die cut down so it would be more in proportion to the A2 card, then attached it to the card with dimensional stickies. Tiny little purple flowers were punched out and embellished with a rhinestone in the center of each one; I cut two Pippi butterflies--one purple and one out of white vellum, and sprayed them both with more of the diamond glitter spray, then attached them to the card. Note: the glue I usually use does not stick very well to surfaces sprayed with the glitter spray.  I'll have to remember that.  :o)  The card is finished off with a little purple and white gingham bow.

Here is the card:

Here is a list of tools I used to make the card:

  • Sizzix: Fall Set
  • Spellbinders: Labels 22
  • MemoryBox: Pippi Butterfly
  • PaperStudio: Daisy Lever Punch
  • Krylon: Glitter Blast Diamond Dust Spray
  • My Sentiments Exactly: Q2238
  • Rhinestones
  • Green Ink
Items listed in green may be purchased at Joan's Gardens.

I am also entering this card at Flutterby Wednedays and Word Art Wednesdays.

Thank you for stopping by my blog.  As always, I ask for God's highest and best for you today and every day.

Many rich blessings,

Ginny B.
