A Very, Very Pink Thank You

This week at Joan's Gardens we are challenged to make a card with only the colors pink and white, flowers and something curvy.

Starting out with a new Cuttlebug die I just got (Flower Vine), I cut it out of white paper and colored the flowers with different pink colored pencils. Now I had to find a background that would make the die cut show up. It had to be darker than the pink flowers, so I found some very, very pink paper which I ran through a Paper Studio Swirls EF. Since it was so blatantly pink, white ink was dabbed around the edges, and even that did not make it toned down enough, so I dabbed some white shoe polish to tone it down some more, just on the perimeter. Ha, ha!

Pink rhinestones were added to the center of the pink flowers for embellishment, and white leafy vines (Cheery Lynn Fanciful Flourish and Cheery Lynn Mini Fanciful Flourish) were tucked in behind the flowers. A pink and white bow was added. The sentiment is inked in pink and framed with one of the Stampin' Up Four Frames set, also inked in pink. Then it was punched out with the Stampin' Up Large Decorative Label Punch that corresponds to the shape of the stamped frame.

Here is a picture of the card:

The pink bow does not show well in the picture; it looks as though it is a bit off for the colors in the rest of the card, but in fact, it is a good blend for the card colors. My camera sometimes does not do colors accurately.

This is a close up of the edges of the card, dabbed with ink and shoe polish to tone down the bright pink:

If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by confessing with your mouth that you are saved. NLT
