Well, this week I am entering a card at Joan's Gardens, and I must say, her challenge really made me go outside of the box, but learning new techniques is half the fun, isn't it?
These are the guidelines:
The word for the day was crumple, crumple, crumple.
Starting out with purple cardstock, I hand-tore a piece in a spiral pattern, wet it, and crumpled it. After it was dried, it was wound into a rose shape. The white overlay on the basic white cardstock was dabbed around the edges with purple ink; on top of that was a light lavender piece, torn into a semi-rectangular shape, then wet, crumpled, and laid out flat to dry. Next was a piece of green paper with white polka dots cut into leaf shapes. On top of that is a gold wire-edged ribbon crumpled and placed on the paper. More leaves are added in a darker shade of green so they show up better, then the purple rose, and a purple bow. another hand-torn piece of paper wet, crumpled and dabbed with purple ink (and a bit of green ink, too) was added after I dried it with a heat tool. The sentiment is stamped on another hand-torn, wet, crumpled piece, too; it was stamped after it was dried with the heat tool. Gold leaf flourishes are added, as well as a purple butterfly that has been sprayed with purple glitter spray.
I must say, this was a really fun challenge! :o)
