I am entering another card at Joan's Gardens this week using kraft paper, red paper, a bird and layers.
I started out with a completely different card and kept working with it and just thought it looked awful. I said to myself, "Would I actually give this to someone?"
The answer was a resounding "NO'," so that idea was scrapped and a new card began to develop. Does that ever happen to anyone else????? Sometimes I start out with an idea and just can't seem to make it work.
Starting out with white cardstock, a red paper was glued on top of it. Then a strip of kraft paper was run through a Cuttlebug Swiss Dots EF and embellished with a red and white gingham ribbon running vertically down the card. Next, a Cottage Cutz Flourish Layered Flower (leaves and swirls only) die cut was added. The sentiment is Stampabilities (I think), and is stamped onto kraft paper, cut with an EK Success scalloped punch, then backed with more red paper. The little red bird (Spellbinders Birds) was die cut and added to the upper left corner, resting on a leafy branch. To top it all off, a very large gingham bow was placed at the bottom of the card.

Your card has nice composition. The bow is absolutely grand. I like the texture it provides as well as the texture of the embossing. We're so happy you stopped by our house at 613 Avenue Create.
