Jesus: Messiah, Emmanuel, Savior, Truth, Life

This week at Joan's Gardens we are challenged to use Kraft paper, the color red, layers and a bird. I have seen postings of some really beautiful creations on her site this week, and wanted to give it a go.

Starting out with ivory cardstock, a piece of red paper was added to it. I stamped some kraft paper with a wonderful stamp I have depicting the Names of Jesus (Stampabilities Faith Text Background). I always like to make my Christmas cards with a spiritual message. It is a reminder that Jesus is the reason for the season.

But I digress...

The edges of the stamped kraft paper are torn to add interest. I ran a medallion die (Spellbinders Medallion One) through with red paper and also kraft paper. The bird is from Spellbinders also (Birds), and is embellished with red glitter. Little pine sprigs (PoppyStamps) are tucked in along with holly leaves (Martha Stewart punch). Little red rhinestones are added to the holly leaves to represent red berries.

The bow (Bow Easy) is tied, then a button with a twine bow is layered on top of that.

Here is a picture of the card; color is true red, rather than the orangey red shown in the photo:

Looks like the cardstock does not look ivory, but it is. Wish my colors would come out more accurately, but, hey. We do our best!  LOL

Here is the little glittery bird; kraft paper is brown, not pink:

And a closeup of the stamped background:

Romans 10:9-11
If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by confessing with your mouth that you are saved. NLT
